We travel to Pontefract Races to place our bets and watch with bated breath to see which of the horses reaches the finish line first. Whether you strike it big or lose out to Lady Luck, the fun is all about taking part.
As a historical racecourse dating back to as early as 1648, Pontefract racecourse has an interesting past despite not being the most well-known, hosting some major races in WWII in the absence of other courses. The 2 mile circuit remains one of the longest continuous flat racing circuits in Europe with a sharp bend before the home straight and the final furlongs of the track are uphill, making for a testing but thrilling race!
