For over three decades, Dutch violin maestro André Rieu has dazzled audiences with his modern take on waltz music. Forty million records are testament to that but nothing compares to seeing the King of Waltz and the Johann Strauss Orchestra perform live in concert.

After taking violin lessons at the age of five he went on to study violin at the Conservatoire Royal in Liege and at the Conservatorium Maastricht. He concluded his music training with distinction in 1977 at the Conservatoire in Brussels.

Rieu’s Johann Strauss Orchestra, which he formed in 1987, has evolved from having just 12 original members to being a magnificent 60 piece today, fronted by the maestro himself and his treasured Stradivarius violin.
