When Jonathan Antoine, labelled the ‘Teenage Pavarotti’, hit our screens as one half of opera duo Jonathan and Charlotte on Britain’s Got Talent, the young tenor stole the nation’s heart as an unassuming shy teenager with a booming voice.
The couple went on to finish came second in the finals of the primetime talent show and enjoyed two hugely successful Top 5 albums afterwards.
Although the duet have since gone their separate ways to pursue their own solo dreams, Jonathan Antoine’s career has gone from strength to strength and he has blossomed into a true showman with a loyal fan base, known as the ‘Fantoines’.
His debut solo album Tenore reached the summit of the classical charts where it stayed for three weeks.
Such has been the development of Antoine that he has since shared the stage with his idol Placido Domingo, performed with Joss Stone at London Poppy Day and took centre stage at the Autumn Proms and Classical Spectacular at the Royal Albert Hall.
A true star in the making, Jonathan makes classical music accessible to a new generation and makes it look effortless whilst putting on a compelling performance.
