Ever since he swapped his job in pharmaceuticals for the live stage, scouse comic John Bishop has enjoyed a meteoric rise and taken the UK comedy scene by storm.

While Bishop road to comedy stardom was a long one, boy did he make his mark, playing to sold out arenas audiences and releasing the fastest selling comedy DVD in the UK ever.

His last tour ‘Supersonic’ was seen by over 500,000 people and received 5 star reviews in the media and followed critical acclaimed sell-out shows  ‘Rollercoaster’ in 2012, ‘Sunshine’ in 2011 and the ‘Elvis Has Left The Building’ show in 2010, which saw him nominated for an Edinburgh Comedy Award.

What sets Bishop apart from many other comedians is the fact that as well as being funny he has the likeability factor. While his everyday bloke observations about married life and tales of fatherhood and family life are hilariously funny they are also delivered with warmth and infectious charm.

Bishop’s new show is aptly called “Winging it!”, which Bishop himself says is due to the fact that as a latecomer to the comedy circuit, it feels like he’s ‘winged it’ ever since.

The show is Bishop’s fifth UK tour and is expected to be his biggest yet, with over 35 dates already confirmed.

More recently Bishop has branched out to host his own chatshow, ‘John Bishop: In Conversation With…’ which saw him interview some of the biggest names in sport, music and entertainment.

In addition to his phenomenal success on stage and screen Bishop’s charitable work has also catapulted him into the nation’s hearts. In 2012 he went through the pain barrier to successfully complete a ‘Week of Hell’ which saw him cycle, row and jog over 290 miles from Paris to London, and raise over £4million in the process for Sport Relief.

But the stage is where he belongs, and ‘Winging It’ is expected to be one of this year’s hotly anticipated shows in our Showtime range.
