Spectacular Tossa de Mar.

Tossa De Mar is one of Spain’s most characterful and photogenic holiday resorts located on the Girona coastline – a charming medieval walled town that towers majestically above a collection of inviting golden beaches and secluded coves which slope gently into the clear waters.

As soon as you step foot on the town’s most iconic beach, the Playa Gran, you will fall in love with the place. This beautiful horseshoe bay is topped off by a stunning backdrop of La Vila Vella castle – the perfect setting for lazy days spent soaking up the sun.

The castle itself is worthy of a visit. It once protected the town from pirates and shelters the town’s narrow cobbled streets. Take the time to find "el agujero del demonio", a small hole in the wall where fishermen would abandon their boats after long days at sea.

In the evening enjoy a romantic meal in one of the many tapas and fish restaurants that line the prom with the beautifully illuminated castle providing the perfect setting.

On a coach holiday to Tossa it’s easy to see why the town has attracted many artists and film stars. Painter Marc Chagall was so taken aback by its splendour that he christened it the "blue paradise" whilst it also touched the heart of actress Ava Gardner when filming ‘Pandora and the Flying Dutchman’. A statue of her stands near the castle today.

Don’t miss the chance to visit the ruins of the Church of Saint Vicent and Museo Municipal, considered one of Spain’s best and original art museums.

Meanwhile, in the city centre, you will find plenty of quaint shops to browse and cafes to stop and watch the world go by.
