The market, which first opened in the 1444, is widely regarded as the best in the UK and is a mecca for shopaholics, attracting over 250,000 visitors every week from all over the UK who are drawn by the fantastic array of stalls and prospect of snapping up a bargain or two.

On Wednesday, Fridays and Saturday’s there’s a real buzz about the place with every stalls spread over the enormous 200,000 square feet site open for business waiting for you to browse.

The market has three sections ready to be explored, including an indoor market, fish and meat hall and the open market all bursting at the seams including giftware, hardware, haberdashery, clothing, jewellery and electrical goods. There’s even hairdressers and nail bars!

You will also be spoilt for choice by the fantastic local produce on offer to, with locally grown vegetables brought to market by the farmers themselves, and the best butchers and fishmongers from the region selling top quality steaks, award winning pies, hand raised pies and fresh fish.

After all that shopping you will have earned a well-deserved break.
