Matilda’s vulgar parents are obsessed by television and totally disregard their daughter’s love of reading and think she is nothing more than a nuisance.

Away from her troubles at home, life isn’t much better at school for Matilda where sadistic headmistress Miss Trunchbull terrifies the students and teachers with her wicked ways.

It seems the adults need to be taught a very valuable lesson in life and Matilda’s the girl to do just that when she discovers she has a very special power.
