Beautiful Lloret De Mar.
Located in the heart of Costa Brava, Lloret De Mar is one of Spain’s biggest and liveliest seaside resorts, which has a timeless appeal.
The resort’s five golden Blue Flag beaches stretching endlessly along the five mile coastline are the biggest draw to visitors and renowned as being the best in Northern Spain - perfect for spending days relaxing in the sun or trying your hand at one of the many watersports on offer.
As the sun goes down the fun doesn’t stop as there’s loads of British-style bars and clubs to choose from each night on the beachfront. There’s also a great mix of restaurants to suit all tastes, including plenty selling tapas and Paella, made from local seafood.
Away from the beach, the town is a cultural delight and is worthy of greater exploration. Climbing the hillside to the ruins of Sant Joan Castle is a real workout but the views overlooking the beach are well worth the hike.
The Church of Sant Roma will stop you in your tracks with its colourful dome, while Castell d’en Plaja perched on a rock along the beach provides views of the Balearic Sea to die for.
For a peaceful getaway head to Santa Clotilde Gardens. It’s a great place to relax with a book or wander and admire the exotic plants and flowers on display.
In the Old Quarter you will also come across interesting monuments which provide an insight into the region’s history which goes back over 1000 years, plus loads of shops selling souvenirs.
With Tossa de Mar and the city of Barcelona not too far away, Lloret De Mar is the perfect base to explore Catalonia’s Costa Brava coast.
