Traditionally run at Longchamp on the first Sunday in October, The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe classic is recognised as the most famous horse races of the flat season in Europe and also the richest in the world on turf, with a first prize of over £2.2million. Only the Japan Cup and the Dubai World Cup have a bigger prize fund.
First run in 1920, the ‘Arc’ sees the world’s elite thoroughbreds aged 3 and over, race over one and a half miles for the coveted trophy.
There’s no luck involved in winning the ‘Arc’. In a field that’s packed with classic winners from England, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy and Japan only the best come out on top as they look to add their names to one of the most prestigious honour’s boards in horse racing.
All winners of the ‘Arc’ rightfully earn themselves a place in racing history alongside the greats including Ribot, Sea Bird, Alleged and, more recently, Treve.
This year will see the race break from tradition, and will be raced at the majestic Chantilly Racecourse due to redevelopment work taking place at Longchamp Racecourse.
Join the Parisian glitterati and racegoers from across the globe to see who will win the title this year.
With jazz bands and brass bands adding to the atmosphere, and plenty of champagne bars to enjoy, a coach trip to The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is one of the most stylish and glamorous sporting spectacles of the year.
Every year over a billion people tune in to watch the ‘Arc’ on television but you can be there with National Holidays. A real treat for horse racing fans, book today!
