Fronted by the recognisable falsetto voice of Frankie Valli, the Four Seasons were one of the biggest US bands of all time, selling over 100million records.

But behind the clean-cut image and overwhelming success, which led to the band being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, was a rocky, colourful but fascinating rollercoaster journey.

Hailing from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey, the early years of the group’s founding member Tommy DeVito was split between his band, the less than successful Variety Trio, and jail for petty crime.

But when he comes across young local boy Frankie Castelluccio (Valli), and songwriter Bob Gaudio they invent an unmistakable sound that would turn them into a global phenomenon. But will their troubled past come back to haunt them when they reach the top?
