Chicago is undeniably the sassiest, sultriest and most sexy musical sensation to ever hit the stage.

The ultimate musical theatre show to take in as part of a coach holiday, it tells the story of nightclub singer Roxie Hart who, desperate for showbiz success, shoots her lover after his promise of helping her reach the fame she craves falls short.

She is left standing trial in Cook County Jail and seeks the help of sleazy and suave lawyer Billy Flynn to help her get acquitted from the charge.

In jail she meets another of Flynn’s clients, glamorous, double-murderess Velma Kelly, who Billy has turned from sinister criminal into a celebrity through clever exploitation of the media.

They are both left to fight for Billy’s attentions in the hope they get the media coverage they hope will sway the public’s sympathy for their respective case to help them avoid execution.

Directed by Walter Bobbie with stunning choreography by Ann Reinking, Chicago is compelling and seductive in equal measures and polished off with plenty of razzle dazzle. Pencil it into your theatre calendar for this year.
