Written and first performed in the early 1980s, Blood Brothers remains one of the best musicals of its generation.

Only three other musicals have lasted longer on the West End than Blood Brothers, which is testimony to the captivating story by Willy Russell of tangled fate, good intentions but which ends in tragedy.

For those not familiar with the plot, it tells the story of desperate single mum Mrs Johnstone who struggles to make ends meet. When she finds out is expecting twins she secretly and reluctantly agrees to hand over one to the rich, childless couple for whom she works as a housekeeper.

As the unsuspecting twins grow up on either side of the tracks they are naturally drawn to each other, becoming firm friends and “blood brothers”, but their relationship ends in tragedy when they both inevitably fall for the same girl.

Featuring songs including “Bright New Day”, “Marilyn Monroe” and “Tell Me It’s Not True”, Blood Brothers is a genuine emotional rollercoaster that will have you laughing, crying and totally drained come the climax. It’s powerful stuff!

A gripping show to take in as part of a memorable Showtime break that includes ticket, hotel stay and all coach travel.
