If you like your musicals big, bold and packed with more razzmatazz and jazz hands than La La Land and Strictly Come Dancing put together, then 42nd Street is the show for you.

Since being revived in the West End, the production has received five-star reviews from the critics and standing ovations from the audience every performance.

A classic backstage fairytale, the production charts the story of famed director Julian Marsh as he attempts to put on a brand new musical production, called Pretty Lady, at the height of the Great Depression.

One of the fresh young hopefuls looking to join the cast is Peggy Sawyer from Allentown, Pennsylvania, but her dreams are left in tatters when she misses her audition.

After a stunning dance routine at lunch in front of other cast members is spotted by the director, Peggy is added to the burgeoning ensemble of chorus girls.

But when the show’s star Dorothy Brock breaks her ankle, leaving the show on the brink of closure, newcomer Peggy is thrust into the spotlight to save the production. Will she shine on the biggest stage of all? Cue one of the most famous lines in musical history “you're going out a youngster but you've got to come back a star!”

42nd Street is a throwback to the good ol’ days of musical entertainment, a lavish spectacle that’s unashamedly glitzy and bursting at the seams with perfectly synchronised toe-tapping and high-kicking showgirls dripping head-to-toe with sequins that will leave you breathless and awe-struck.

Accompanied by some of musical theatre’s biggest show numbers including “We’re in the Money”, “Lullaby of Broadway”, “Shuffle Off to Buffalo”,  “I Only Have Eyes for You”, “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and of course “42nd Street”, the latest revival of 42nd Street showcases musical theatre at its beautiful and flamboyant best.
