The city of a hundred spires, Prague – the mother of cities, magical Prague, these are just three titles which the capital of the Czech Republic proudly wears. It has an extraordinary charm about it which can be sensed in every season.
Historical Prague
Founded on the cross-roads of ancient trade routes, at a site where the most varied spiritual and cultural currents merged, Prague’s unique character is partly due to its natural environment. Built on nine hills and set astride the River Vlatva, spanned by a breath-taking succession of wide bridges, gold tipped spires and baroque domes, its skyline has not changed much since the 18th century.
The old town square is the focal point of the city and houses some impressive buildings, like the Tyn Church and the town hall, all overlooked by the magnificent Prague Castle, dominating the skyline.
Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic has always played an important role in the history of the country and Europe. Since the Middle Ages, it has been known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Take one of our coach holidays to Prague and see for yourself!
