European Battlefields Holidays

Marking 100 years since the outbreak of the First World War the 2014-2018 commemorations will see people from all over the world coming together to remember. To commemorate this important event we have put together a selection of breaks to discover the sites of the WWl battlefields, including the memorials and museums recalling the brave and tragic stories of the many nationalities who were involved in this important part of history.

National Holidays inclusive excursion programmes includes visits to The Somme where the bloodiest battles took place, along with Arras, Vimy Ridge and the Beaumont Hamel Memorial Park. Visit the In Flanders Fields Museum, presenting the story of the First World War in the West Flanders Front Region, an in-depth collection of original material from the archives, presented using modern technology. Visit the battlefields around Ypres with the opportunity to pay your respects at the Essex and Tyne Cot cemeteries, or join us at the Menin Gate for the Last Post.

Many of our excursions feature an expert tour guide, who can give you a real insight into the actual events that took place and will be able to answer any questions you may have along the way - as together we remember those who fought, lived and gave their lives
